What C9 and C7 mean
C9 and C7 are the classic cone-shaped Christmas bulbs. The number is the width of the bulb in eighths of an inch: a C9 is about 1⅛ inches across and a C7 about ⅞ of an inch. Mini lights are the small bulbs on most store-bought strands.
Side by side
| C9 | C7 | Mini lights | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bulb width | About 1⅛ in | About ⅞ in | Small |
| From the street | Bold, even line | Softer line | Thin, hard to see |
| Best for | Rooflines | Smaller spaces, up close | Trees, bushes, indoors |
Why we use C9s on rooflines
A roofline is seen from the street, so the bulbs need to be big and bright. C9s draw a bold, even line that shows off the shape of your home: every eave, peak and gable. Mini lights are made for close up, and on a roofline they look thin from the curb.
Commercial grade, not store bought
We install Minleon commercial-grade C9 LED bulbs on commercial-grade lines and clips, built for a Minnesota winter. Every line is custom-cut to your roofline, so the bulbs sit straight and evenly spaced, with no extra strand bunched up at the corners.
LED bulbs run cool and use far less power than old incandescent bulbs. And if one goes out during the season, text us and we change it, free.
Colors
Our C9s come in warm white, red and green, in six looks: Warm White, Evergreen, Merry, Grinch, Rudolph and Holly Jolly. See every look.
